Platforms

One account. Separate worlds. A platform for each part of your life.

A platform is a separate workspace inside uOS: your family, a club, a company, a project group, or the shared uOS workspace everyone belongs to. Each platform has its own members, roles, settings and content.

Content stays where it was made

Chats, files, boards, documents, calendar and mail stay on the platform where they were created.

One account, many platforms

Your identity stays the same everywhere. Switching changes windows, desktop icons, wallpaper, theme and notifications, and new content always lands on the platform you are in. You can show a different name on each platform.

Create one, or ask to join

Anyone can create a platform and becomes its first owner. Open platforms are listed under "Discover open platforms": you ask to join, and the platform decides. Everyone else joins by invitation.

One role per platform

Every member has one role on each platform: Owner, Superuser, Admin, HR, Moderator, Member or Guest. A rights matrix decides what each role may do, from managing people to apps and security. Every member can see the member list.

Owners set the rules

Which apps are enabled, the security policy (for example a required uID security key, or how browsers may remember people), AI on or off and which provider, emergency access for organizations, and the branding. Every administrative change is written to the audit log.

Leaving closes the door

When someone leaves a platform, they lose access, and the encrypted items they could open get new keys.

Find open platforms and ask to join

Owners choose whether a platform is Open or Closed. Closed platforms are invisible to outsiders and can only be joined by invitation. Open platforms can be found by every signed-in uOS user.

  • Search by name in the Platform Switcher, or under Settings → Platform → "Discover open platforms".
  • Each result shows only the name, description and logo, nothing about members or content.
  • "Ask to join" sends a request. You can withdraw it, and have up to 20 open requests at a time.
  • The people who may manage the platform approve or decline. You get a notice, then switch to it with the platform pill.

Weekend rides, repair evenings and the summer city tour.

Samir searches "cycling", asks to join his city's cycling club, and the next evening he is a member.

Who it's for

From the family table to the whole company.

A home for your family

One private space for the people at your table: the family chat, the shopping list, the school run and the photos from the weekend.

  • Family chatEveryone in one group, with voice messages and photos.
  • Shared shopping listA checklist in the chat that anyone can tick off.
  • Family plannerSwimming on Tuesday, dentist on Friday, with reminders.
  • Call the grandparentsA guest link is enough, no account needed.

Who uOS helps

Eight people, one private place. From the classroom to the town hall.

A teacher preparing a lesson

Before a lesson on radioactivity, she asks Marie Curie in uSages how the discovery happened, or lets Euclid explain a proof. uPresent drafts the slides from a short description, the worksheet goes to the class in uDoc, and announcements reach everyone in uLine.

Encrypted by you

A student

Group work happens in uDoc, homework and deadlines live in uTodo, and the study group meets in uMeet. Before an exam she can put her questions to Euclid or Al-Khwarizmi in uSages. Her school platform and her family platform stay apart.

Encrypted by you

A company with confidential work

Contracts, plans and figures in uDoc, uSheet and Files are encrypted end to end on each device, with a post-quantum and a classical algorithm together. Roles decide who may manage what, every member signs in with a uID security key, and an escrow key recovers selected work when someone leaves.

Encrypted by you

A doctor's practice or care service

uShift plans the roster, with swaps, jump-ins and the time clock. The team talks in an encrypted uChat group, keeps the practice handbook in uDoc and meets in uMeet. uOS is the team's workspace, not a patient records system.

Encrypted by you

A freelancer or consultant

Each client gets its own platform, with its own files, mail and boards. The platform pill switches between them in one click, and what belongs to one client never shows up at another. Clients join calls from a guest link, no account needed.

Encrypted by you

A club or NGO

Announcements go out in uLine, events go into the shared calendar, and volunteers pick their tasks on a board. A member builds a sign-up sheet in App Studio, and the owners approve it for the Marketplace.

Encrypted by you

A town hall or public administration

Internal work goes digital: documents in uDoc, meetings in uMeet, shift planning for public services in uShift and encrypted chat for staff. Residents find information on a public website built in App Studio and, once they join the town's platform, in its uLine feed. Planned, not available today: announcements and news for residents (uGov), verified citizen identity (uTrust), emergency alerts (uAlert), and polls and votes (uVote).

Use cases

One day with uOS. Six very different places.

The roster changes every day, people need each other quickly, and staff documents must stay inside the team.

A day at Harbor Clinic

  1. Jonas is ill. Mira sees the open early shift in uShift and offers to jump in. The planner approves from her phone. Encrypted by you

  2. Mira clocks in. Her timesheet counts it against her contract. Encrypted by you

  3. The ward group shares a handover checklist in uChat. Each item is ticked as it is done. Encrypted by you

  4. The quality manager updates the hygiene manual in uDoc. A nurse invites a new colleague as a reader; the manager approves. Encrypted by you

  5. The weekly team meeting runs in uMeet, with the night shift joining from home. Encrypted by you

uOS is the team's workspace. It is not a patient records system.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Can I have several platforms on one account?

Yes. Family, club, company: you switch between separate platforms in one click, with the same identity. Windows, icons, members and notifications stay specific to each platform.

Who can see the content of a platform?

Only its members. Content stays on the platform where it was created, and when someone leaves, the encrypted items they could open get new keys.

Is uOS suitable for businesses and teams?

Yes. Organisations get roles and a rights matrix, invitations, an audit log, shift planning (uShift), documents and boards, and can require a uID security key for every member — all on one security model.

Is uOS good for families?

Yes. A family platform keeps the family chat, shared calendar, shopping lists and photos in one private space that only the family can read.

How much does uOS cost for a business?

uOS is free forever for personal use. Businesses and institutions pay per seat, with terms for non-profits and education; updates and support are included. Organisations can also self-host under licence.
